Advanced Concepts : Speed Potions : 5 North (0)

I don't get this one.

Okay, I get that you're supposed to sneak past the roach lines by using speed potion parity and then you set the mimic over on the right. I assume I have to use the four speed potions up next to release exactly 1 roach or exactly 2 roaches from the side holding chambers, such that I can 'flatten' out the rows using the top area and enable passage back. Am I on the right track?

You don't need to do anything with the top four speed potions with regards the roaches.

I didn't kill any roaches before I killed the adder.

I can't get past the line of roaches. I get the concept, but I can't step on (19, 21) without at least one roach following.

It makes a difference when you drink the speed potion in the beginning. Compare what happens when you:
(a) drink the speed potion when the door (19,21) is open, or
(b) drink the speed potion when the door (19,21) is closed.
You can rationalize the difference by remembering that roaches will only move on the full turn.
