I imagine that I need to strand the slayer somewhere but where? I am having a great deal of trouble with this room.

I completed this room by trapping the Slayer in the SE corner as soon as possible. I tried to beeline there as quick as I could, killing seeps along the way, rather than trying to drop trapdoors, kill seep, and deal with the Slayer (which is quite hard as has been pointed out many times)

This is the intended solution! Have fun challenging yourself and trying to trap the Slayer somewhere else...
