I can't seem to survive for more than a few moves. I've tried every combination of three or fewer moves, even the obviously wrong ones, and the roaches still kill me.

Any help available here?

Did you mean you are on the left side (where the tar mother was) and the roach is on the right (where the snake was)? If it was the other way, you wouldn't need to switch places...

It's not hard to switch places, knowing that if a roach's movement is blocked diagonally it prefers to move vertically over horizontally.

No, I'm actually inside the little room with the single square block in the centre. The roach is on the left and I am on the right. Not to worry though: I had a blinding epiphany in bed last night :-)
