You'd want to enter at 1 and exit at 2. Kill the roaches. Enter at 2 and go to back to 1. Go around the right side of the maze to the top; enter at 3. Conquer the room by killing the roaches and defeating the other one with a mimic potion.
Exit at 3, go around again, and enter back at 1. Exit at 4. Mercilessly slaughter those nefarious roaches. Enter at 4; exit at 1. Go around the left side of the maze and enter at 5. Pick up the mimic potion below 6. Position the mimic to hit the orb below 7, and then have the mimic land on the trapdoor below 8. Do not make the mimic actually move to 8.
The next part is a bit tricky. have the mimic move to 9 to hit the orb, but leave a path for Beethro to reach the red door. Have the mimic hit the orb at 9. Assuming everything happened correctly, you should be able to clear the rest of the trapdoors and go on to defeat the goblins in the room North of this one.
This isn't just a way to conquer the room; it's the method of getting to 4 North. Overall, it feels very Jacob-like.
