I'm just plain stuck in here. I have no idea how I'm supposed to go about this room. It's driving me crazy, I've tried going at the orb from every angle, and no combination of moves I've tried seems to work. I. Need. Help.

This is a nice room, isn't it? It took me a good few tries to get it right.

The first thing you notice is that all 8 squares around the orb are suicide if you stand still, as all 9 rooms full of spiders will head straight for you, so hint 1 is:

Hmm, three help posts about rooms in three different dungeons all in the space of a quarter of an hour or so. Methinks you could have a few more tries.

Yes, I know. but the reason is that I am sitting in my chair and can now longer walk because of an accident last year, I have playd Drod and have concuered many Holds and also The real DROD, I have playd the holds until I get stuck and then tried another. Therefore I asked for so much at the same time. Hope you understand me, because I normal speak danish

Obs, Can I only play the new holds if I buy The Journey - - -

You must be very clever. I am still stuck in this room. There is no place to hide as far as I can see. I open with my sword pinting SE and walk south at the side of one of the blocks, but I am still getting killed when I try to go down.

You're taking the right route, you just need to make some small adjustments so you can deal with the side spiders too. Trust me, I got stuck on the same bit.

OK, I've been beating my head against the wall in this room way too long now . . . I've every direction, and the following seem the most promising, based on the hints so far:

1) Sword pointing southeast, heading east. Maximum four moves.
2) Sword pointing north, heading southeast. Maximum six moves.
3) Sword pointing northwest, heading southeast. Maximum six moves.

Heading the other directions is no less fatal.

I understand the theory of minimizing exposure by staying against walls. The most promising looks to be the nearest (to the southeast) but I'm still overwhelmed immediately. May I, clearly a dullard in this area, humbly beg a more precise hint?

Got it to work; thanks! I think part of the problem is that I'd loaded this hold into traditional DROD, and the spiders are essentially invisible.
