Well this looks like a lot of trial and error, so unless I'm missing a simple mud arrangement that contains the adder I'll just ask for a picture of the correct way to cut it.

First, a vague tip: The hardest direction to make the snake go here is South, since that's late in the movement order and Beethro is already to the west of the snake.

Here's Luc's solution. Note that it depends on snake preferences, so you'll have to release the snake on a specific timer value to get it to work. There are probably other solutions too.
