Yeah - the tar tries to grow onto Beethro, but can't, so it tries to form a tar baby on the square east of him, but his sword keeps the tar baby from forming.

Actually...no, we're not. From what I can tell, Lardarse just beat it for the first time and he wanted to comment on someone else's hints for this room. Then Chaco and I commented on his comment. So yeah, the thread was kind of resurrected, but I think the comments are still valid.

No, I'm trying to help anyone who is only just getting to this point :)

And I think that the comments are always still valid, even after the changes between Webfoot and AE that mean that monster spawning happens 1 turn later.

And it does say to re-use posts and not just blindly create new ones all of the time...

PS: I hate tar mothers...
PPS: The tar growing on your sword mistake is a subtle difference that I didn't realise until a few hours after I posted...
