How does one get here? I've conquered Once through Quarce descended and have explored everything I can reach on Sence and Quince. Except that since I can't get anywhere else, I know that is not truly the case. How far do I have to go back to get either here or Sence 3S?

Okay - but how do I get back through Quarce descended. When I try to return on the staircase, it tells me I've conquered the hold.

Make sure you've downloaded the latest version of the hold -- there was a stair glitch in the originally uploaded version that caused this, but it's since been corrected.

It shouldn't be. The proper way to do it is hit the closest savepoint, and then update the hold. Then you can restore at that savepoint and all of your progress should be saved. (It's possible you may have to replay the last bits of a few secret rooms.)

As you've noticed, your solution can't involve striking the orb, because that would shut off the stairs. So don't strike the orb! There's another way to get to the serpent area.

The level's introduction implicitly states that whatever is written on the scroll will be helpful. The scroll says that briars can destroy just about anything. This is useful because...



Hopefully that should help you out. There's still plenty left to this hold, so don't give up!

Can I ask for a few more hints? I just don't seem to be able to get the timing right. I start by dropping the red tiles in the west part and then use the tunnel. I've then tried to drop the red tile, shut the yellow gates, open the yellow gates and hit the fuse and also the reverse and a couple of other combo's. The problem I have is that when ever the bomb blows up some briars they immediately grow thus blocking the way.

The briar grows after all the immature (red) briar has matured (turned black). If you need more time between the bomb explosion and briar growth, make sure there is plenty of immature briar around that doesn't get exploded.
