I can get so close. But not quite there. In the first chamber, I can only manage to leave the rightmost hot tile and the right hot tile on the bottom left square open. I can't get the golem off the pressure plate onto the bottom left one at all, and I can't get him onto the right one unless I'm in the big room; but if I'm in the big room, that means I still have to clear the bottom room, and if I still have to clear the bottom room, I can't take him off the pressure plate. Right?

You may not have noticed this, but there is a trick that makes the room a bit easier to do.

This was the last room I finished in the hold proper, and I thought I had it finished at least two times before I realized I messed something up in the beginning and had to restart the whole thing. It requires a lot of preparation.

You don't. That golem (the golem on the eastmost hot tile in the northern chamber) comes from down below, and was the last golem I killed.

I think I need to suck it up and ask for a demo on this room - or a really obvious hint, such as the exact order in which all of the hot tiles must be used.

There are too many golems for me to keep track of all of their movements. Invariably, I end up using particular hot tiles too soon and blocking passages that are needed to manuever. The eastern room is easiest for me to clear; I think the bottom room would be possible, but I can't make any progress in the upper room without blocking off all of the passages, making it impossible to get a golem on the pressure plate. And saving all of those golems until after I've finished the eastern room isn't working so well either.

I read all of the hints here, but it just isn't enough. This is the last room I need to drop the master door, and I'm about ready to give up! Please help!!

Thanks! Of course, I just finished the room - before I saw your hint!

Sounds like I did things a bit differently - I still ended up leaving most of the golems in that upper room until last, but there was a particular hot tile that needed to be left open, and another that I couldn't figure out how to use. 3 hours later, I can now say I would never like to see this room again. On to the Master Wall, if I can remember where I left it.
