I am embarrassed to say that I am stymied by this room. I end up with one extra mimic no matter what I do. I've tried different routes, exploded bombs and I can't seem to improve it. I am sure it is something obvious that I am overlooking. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I take that back. I have found a route and strategy that leaves me with the correct number of mimics but it leaves me coming through the wrong way so that I cut the fuse on the bomb. And I can't do it in reverse.

My solution took advantage of a couple of things:



I don't actually have my solution in front of me, though.

I admit, I didn't realize there'd be so many H&S topics for the hold either.

Anyway, jbluestein's hints are entirely correct. However, you are making an incorrect assumption about that middle bomb there.

You should probably post a demo with your current route so I can compare it to my own and see where you're being inefficient in terms of mimic potions.

...I admit, this room is a twist on the one in the third level, but I don't think it's really an idea I'll develop further in any other project of mine.

×Clearly the middle bomb needs to be triggered but no matter how I try, I ingest 3 mimic potions to do so, putting me at 5 when I light the fuse which is one too many as I have to ingest 4 more on the way back. If I don't use the middle bomb, I get to the fuse in four but have five on the way back.....

Correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't played that room yet, but
