So, I'm searching around on the web for more information on Lucas Swineford, the guy who made a couple levels of King Dugan's Dungeon (including the notorious levels 9 and 13)

So, I then stumble across this newsgroup discussion:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.games.computer.puzzle/tree/browse_frm/month/1998-10?_done=%2Fgroup%2Frec.games.computer.puzzle%2Fbrowse_frm%2Fmonth%2F1998-10%3F&

And I read into it. It seems irrelevant at first, talking about Freecell, but then it progresses into Erik talking about a sequel to Webfoot DROD entitled "Beneath", and then long discussions about tar and the level 13 maze, as well as other prospective elements for Beneath, including... Tunnels!

But yeah, there's some really interesting stuff in this page, including some commentary by none other than Matthew Daly.

Wow, that brings back memories. I thought I remembered asking Erik about the invisibility potions, but I'd completely forgotten about the rest of the conversation. Since I don't see any visible sign I replied, I'd like to add that I don't agree that downloading save-files was cheating. :)

Too bad this thread wasn't a conversation of interest.

Heh, twice I've clicked on it thinking; ooh, is this another one of those 'interest' posts, and gone away disappointed ;)

I figured it was more 'man, I wish it was another TCB leak' than a troll.

Actually, to signify that sort of thing, you use capital letters, like so: a Conversation of Interest. In that way you clearly show when it's canonical or merely an interesting conversation. Just like it's Mothingness with a capital M.

You might. I spell mothingness decapitalized.

Depends who says it, really. But thanks for posting that, it reminded me to go over the text in TCB and make sure the capitalization is used right there.
