The secret is to save those 0.1% of the steps for last. That way, by the time you get to them the game will be finished.

Wine Is Not an Emulator. But it does allow x86 Linux to run x86 Windows apps (well, some of them). It's not an emulator because it doesn't simulate the hardware, it just acts as a compatibility layer.

It probably will be. The Windows version hasn't been released yet, it's just that people figured out the URL for the demo and have started unofficially downloading it. There's a good chance that either the Mac version is already there but no-one figured the URL, or Mike is still in the process of uploading.

(Note that I have no idea about which is the case, I haven't spoken directly to Mike about any of this).

How hard/long is the full version compared with the demo? I mean, despite me not liking RPGs/ToTS, I found the demo very enjoyable. But its finished already, and if the full version is only 13 levels when the demo was 4.. is this game reasonably short compared to TCB or do things get a lot more complex?

The Demo is the easy introductory levels. I would say that this is not a accurate view of the whole game. The rooms in the second half of the game will take six or more times longer and plenty of secret things to optimize too. One thing to realize is that the margin of error is very large in the first section, and as you go further you needed to be closer and closer to perfection to move on. (Repeating so that it's easier later)

That's right. It's similar to the demos for KDD/JtRH -- you can beat L1 in maybe five minutes, L2 in 15, and L3 in 30-40. And then each level is long from there.
