Continued from the Main Voting Topic for the Sixth Annual People's Choice Awards...

We have a tie in the category for Technical Design Excellence in Concept. Which of these two great -- but entirely different -- holds should get the Award?

Complex Complex (Lava Gates level) by Rheb
One Step Ahead by Hartleyhair

Please vote again for your favorite hold. :)

:thumbsup It's great to see some fine upstanding forum members have already placed their tiebreaker votes here. Thanks a whole lot, folks!

:-O But we need MORE VOTES because that tie doesn't look very broken yet...

Who's going to take the bold step of voting next? Is it you? Come on... we need you!

HEY!!!! What's all this "view results" nonsense? If you want to know how the race is going, you have to be a fine upstanding forum member and VOTE! It's not going to be the People's Choice if everyone wimps out and forfeits their vote.

We need some more bold and confident forum members, who know what they like, and aren't afraid to stand up and vote for it here!

... Why? What's the matter? You're not afraid, are you? :fear

Didn't we used to have a rule that Smitemaster's Selections weren't eligible for awards since they had official support? I vaguely recall some discussion about it.

Yes, we discussed it... Don't know if there was any rule against it. Probably not, since Beethro's Teacher has been competing previously.

Indeed, I have been following the precedent that SmS holds have been included on the People's Choice ballot before.

Perfection won an award in the Second Annual People's Choice Awards.

Beethro's Teacher won an award in the Third Annual People's Choice Awards.

Devilishly Dangerous Dungeons of Doom was nominated, but did not win an award in the Fifth Annual People's Choice Awards.

In this topic, we are voting on the One Step Ahead and the Lava Gates level of Complex Complex. The concept of One Step Ahead is all Hartleyhair's idea. The concept of the Lava Gates level in Complex Complex is all Rheb's idea (not an "official Caravel" idea, whatever that means).

... And we need MORE VOTES! MORE VOTES! MORE VOTES!

The result will be that the poll is extended to an arbitrary date to allow more people to vote, increasing the chances of the tie being broken.

Wouldn't that be evil!

Or, worse... perhaps I could make a poll about how we should set up the next tiebreaker poll. So then, everyone would have to vote in that poll, and then again in the actual second tiebreaker poll as determined by the results of the first poll. I wonder how many brave forum members would wait through all that?

It makes me shudder just thinking about it. Perhaps one heroic person (or an odd number of heroic people) will save us from that fate by VOTING!!!

:P Perhaps you could rate the originality of both entries on a scale from one to ten? That ought to do the trick.

Ooooh, now that's all more evil than I imagined! :devil

So, so far, the choices on the next poll are going to be:
1. Do the poll again, but with more time for people to vote.
2. Have people rate originality of concept on a scale of 1 to 10.
3. Call it a tie.
4. Have the architects compete in the World Arm Wrestling Open Cup.

Any other choices that should be included?

Hold a fundraiser to raise the money to buy Rheb, hartleyhair and CSR tickets (preferably return fares) to Zagreb, Croatia. There Rheb and harleyhair will compete against each other in the World Arm Wrestling Open Cup on November 28. CSR will referee. The winner takes home the People's Choice Award, as well as arm wrestling bragging rights.

Hey, I live in Zagreb, Croatia. I definitely would like to be a witness of that occasion, and one of them will also get my support. Hell, I can even be a cheerleader. :P

Excellent idea, noma! I've added it to the list, above. And if the voters choose that option, Ivcha Pivcha, you're hired as cheerleader! Now what would we do for a fundraiser? Hmmm... :hmmm:

Looks like we could save a lot if just one more person would VOTE in the last few hours while I'm sleeping.

Well, we could encourage (subliminally or otherwise) random people to purchase Complex Complex and download One Step Ahead. We then take that money from Complex Complex and use it to buy a stadium so that you three can use it to divine the winner.

No stadium needed. There actually is a World Cup of Wrestling competition and it's happening in Zagreb on November 28th. So that's 100 million or so less that we have to raise.
