I've got some non-minor changes to the forum I'd like to roll out, but I'd like to have a couple people try it out before I fully transition to it. There are some minor enhancements and visual changes, but it's mostly changes to the backend.

You should:
- Be able to change your hosts file
- Have experience hack-proofing websites or at least knowledge of how to hack them
- Be an established forum member who I can trust to wear a WHITE hat
- Have some free time and think this sounds fun

I think we're wrapping this up. As you can probably tell via the Illumination, Tuttle was very useful in finding bugs for me, both newly introduced and old.

I'm not 100% sure when I'll push the changes to the live forum. When I do, the biggest thing you'll notice is that you log in at the top of the page instead of at the bottom, and that everyone will be automatically logged out and will need to re-log in.

This has only happened once though.

I fixed the bugs on lines 32 and 80. I sure hope I didn't introduce any new bugs on higher-numbered lines.

Here's a complaint:

I don't like getting sent my password (even to sites that I don't consider secure) in plaintext, in email.

I found myself logged out, tried to log back in, couldn't...clicked the 'forgot my password' button, and got an email with my password, rather than, say, a temporary randomly-generated password.

I don't know if the forum system permits this, but I would consider it a positive change.

For some reason you can no longer choose to view any page directly in the holds page. That should be fixed.

I wonder if he means the page numbers at the bottom of that page to which he linked. (If I'm talking nonsense I apologise, but I noticed that had changed). It only goes up to p5 now. I'm working my way through holds having graded them by difficulty ( from the easy end ) and I used to be able to pick p7 straight away after putting the holds in order. I can't do that now.

Oh. Sure you can - just like in the forums. Click on the [Page X of Y] part and it turns into a dropdown, from which you can directly go to any page.

Perhaps Rheb is looking at the RPG Holds page? If so, I believe the solution is to publish more holds so that we can fill up more than one page.

Possibly Rheb is noticing that the appearance of the "Discuss this Hold" links has changed. They used to look like little speech bubbles, and now they look like scrolls. The links still work for me.

Oh man, I made the changes to holds.php so long ago that I forgot all that I changed. I *meant* to just add RPG support but ended up changing a couple other things. Anyways, sure curious to find out what it was that Rheb meant.

Heh, that's some discussion I got started. I guess I should have tried to be more clear about what I meant.

Maybe this is just something that's wrong with my computer. But this is how it looks to me, (I'm using Google chrome):


Whenever I hold my cursor over "Page 1 of 39" it looks like normal text. I just noticed that if I click it it turns into what you see in Lamkins screenshot. So I can actually get to any page I want, it's just kind of confusing.

Weird. It doesn't look like that for me in chrome, it looks more like the page links on boards and topics with lots of pages.

Looks like you're not getting new CSS or something perhaps, I dunno.
