It is a monster. It moves towards you.

If it tries to move onto a square containing
* another monster
* golem corpse
* tarstuff (vulnerable/non vulnerable/any?)
* briar?
* crumbly wall?
* mirrors?
* orbs?
* snake head?
* rattler tail?
then it destroys the square it moves on to (and itself)

You can also kill them normally with a sword.

They don't leave any remains behind. Or should they...(maybe only if two meet)

Puzzle potential:
* Another way for swordless kills
* Keep it to kill a specific monster at a specific time.
* Clear tarstuff with a limited number of "hits"
* (a Fegundo/Adder with a limited number of uses)
* copy the original Robots game :)

Bad things
* movement order dependency

It is also called something else appropriate to the Eighth. (acid monster, fegundo experiment gone wrong, etc)

You forgot:

* Can't climb stairs (but will level the building instead)

But in the new series, they can levitate to handle stairs.

They could levitate during the time of the seventh doctor. link

And monsters don't even bother to follow you out of the room, let alone up and down stairs.

The last statement is impossible, given the previous two statements. Change them to the following: "Then it replaces the square it moves on to with a Dalek corpse", and "They don't leave any remains behind, unless destroyed by collision."

Well yes, to copy the game you'd have to answer 'yes' to the 'or should they'. (also there'd need to be random teleporting)

I don't think there should always be a corpse left behind because it means that they won't be able to create a path.

edit 09/09/09: that second paragraph is unclear. I think I mean that a group of daleks won't be able to make a path through crumbly wall or the like because the crumbly wall will just be replaced by the corpse.

In Soviet Russia, you confuse y.... no, not again!

Er...perhaps Beethro could exterminate them with his ray gun? Yeah, that's the ticket! (Oops! Never mind.)

PS In America, we drink our shakes, but in Soviet Russia, they shake their drinks.:tomato
