Almost finished, but I'll comment now anyway.
There is a fine line between making a room devilishly clever, and tricky to the point of being obnoxious. I think that line also differs from player to player, but I found 90% of the rooms were on the devilishly clever side for me. Some of my favorites:

×My favorite room of the hold. Like many other rooms at first glance the solution looks easy, until you realize the easy answer is impossible. Even after realizing what needs to be done there is the extra challenge of trying to get all the different elements headed where they need to go.

×At first glance this looks like a rather haphazard room design. I thought, oh no, another move the goblin around to kill the snakes type room. It was anything but. This probably had more small puzzles in it than any of the other rooms. I felt like I'd beaten 8 rooms by the time I finally finished.

×Again, puzzles within puzzles. As with many rooms I found the answer only by doing what didn't make the room become impossible to finish. A very counter intuitive room.

×I enjoy "guide the tar" type puzzles, and this was a very interesting hands off kind of puzzle. My favorite of this level.

×I was very much stumped on this one. Again, if something seems to be impossible, as in the wraithwing can't kill the serpent, it probably is. I had to go to H&S to get this one. A very clever puzzle. Err, make that puzzles

1N1E - Doable, but not as much fun for me. Give me eight tar mothers, and a sea of tar to cut through. Ask me to cut tar in geometric patterns... just not my thing.
1N - [edit] After solving this I realized the room is not random, does not really require trial and error, and actually has a neat trick. I retract my former statement.
For a first hold I was very impressed. As others have said, I'd be very interested to see what you put together with access to the elements in TCB.
