The same hold has other ingenious ways, to do with orthoginal squares and arrows. I don't understand them yet, and sadly there are no more demos so I'm on my own.
Actually, it does contain demos for those rooms as well... click on "Display all demos in level" after you import the file and you should see them.
The basic idea behind the ortho squares and force arrows methods seems to be (this doesn't include a step by step, but does have hints):

×to take advantage of the fact that the slayer often guards his back side by counting on being able to move his body onto the Delver... so when he can't, he gets "confused" and decides to rotate the hook around. So you just need to find a way to get behind and adjacent to slayer (with a force field protecting you) and then rotate race him for the kill.
Oh ya, I haven't had much time to analysis it properly...

×Pretty much what you said works with orthosquares and if the player is standing on a force arrow. The slight difference that I think that the Slayer thinks there is a valid move which isn't possible, as with the force arrows he could rotate but he does no action, if the Slayer wasn't on that force arrow he would normal to kill you. Same with the ortho squares, but with the inability to move diagonally.
