Spun-off from the destructive ooze post, the features of which don't matter to this in any way.

The spitemaster wrote:
Well I think that decides it. Whatever the new tarstuff thing will be, there will be "ooze" in the name.

If the next tarstuff IS an Ooze, I'd really like it to be "primordial". I don't have an actual feature request to go with that name but I do have a thought on possible flavor:

Primordial Ooze, unlike the other tarstuffs, was not created by the Empire. Rather it is a natural form of silica-based life, which the Empire researched in order to develop their engineered tarstuffs. (Depending on the nature of the ooze proposed), because of one of its properties, the Empire dislikes the use of Primordial Ooze, and it is far more likely to be found in natural settings, or harvested by less scientific societies such as goblin villages.

If there were an Imperial faction that diverged and became isolated shortly after the founding of the Empire, I could imagine them using this too.

According to the things that I read Tarstuff was made of a certain trapdoor mutation.

Haha, ironically enough, it probably isn't canon, because I wrote that. The Secret History of Trapdoors

(Uh, as far as I know it's not canon anyway? I see it isn't MARKED as non-canon here and some other things are so now I'm not sure. Any official word?)

How was tar created anyway? All I heard is that its a mineral-based life form and tar technicians did stuff with it to help the Empire's citizens and the DAA

Actually, we don't know. The only reference there is is "The Secret History of Trapdoors".

I don't know about this whole "ooze" thing...it'd destroy the "3-letter tarstuff" we've got going on right now. Maybe Ooz. It's pronounced the same, and gets rid of that silly silent e.

Sooo... how about "rum"? (I'd have suggested "grog", but that's too long obviously... :D)

I cannot read this and not somehow ask why the primordial rum is always gone.

So here's a list of three-letter words that may or may not refer to tarstuff:

tar
mud
gel
goo
ooz
rum
pus
gob
wad
mao (pronounced "mayo"
jam
yog
urt (last two used in combination-tarstuff-variant)
gak
poo
bog
fen
mix
wax
yuk

While some of them are silly, I think that there's enough here for about 10 DROD iterations.

Goo and wax are probably the best ones, if we're restricting it to three letters.

Hmm... How about "The Delicious Jam". It and its babies can only be eaten/collected, not stabbed. Even Beethro can eat/collect jam. I say collected so that he can still take some back to his Grill. Maybe. In an alternate universe. By the way, Jam can be eaten at any point, whether inside or outside, but you drown in it if you are completely surrounded. Jam babies can be eaten, and so can Jam Mothers. How's that sound?

It sounds... delicious. Unlike the idea of restricting names to 3 letters.

I was thinking more like orange marmalade, but that's just me. Also, I'm thinking maybe don't allow Beethro to eat it, but any monster or kill-on-step player role can pass through it and eat it. Then take out the drowning.

I refuse to acquiesce to your request, Banjooie. Now, how about some cake. There is a bunch of cake at a party we're holding. Just assume the Party Escort Submission Position, and the Party Escort will be along to take you to the party, where there is cake. And grief counselling.
