There was an old topic on the forum a long while back about what DROD monster best suited your personality. I used to say I was a tar mother, but now it's obvious to me that I am the Pit Thing. I'm spread all over the place and got my tendrils creeping into everything. I am severely breadthful and therefore have pain speaking in concrete details. So let me give you The Pit Thing summary of what Caravel and its constituents are up to these days:
* We harbored a twisting sickness, now seemingly expunged. Fearing our vessel's breach, a secret second was built--its worthy sister.
* Mister Imer clung hard to his soul.
* The machinations of Mothingness climb to raucous fervor. Despite our missteps, there remains hope for fair statesmanship to preside.
* The paths of Mister Imer and Partner diverged for a small time. In good faith, with each tending to their favored business.
* Partner took his mind apart and stored it safely in marked boxes.
* Trusted members went dark. Broken or modified? I'm not able to say. It would not bring an improvement.
* Something rolls swift and swallows the speed of its own arrival. It claims territory which is not relinquished.
So as you can see, there is a lot going on these days! I should probably take time more often to explain it like I'm doing now. And then people would understand that we aren't just stagnating at the bottom of a pit. Obviously, its more like we're festering at the bottom of a pit. Festering with jagged inclinations and remorse over future misdeeds.
Change Your Password(s)
We got our server hacked. If you used the same password on the forum that you did in some more important website, like an online banking website, go and change the password used on that important website. There is a very small but real risk that a malicious outsider may have that password, and I don't want you to go through troubles. It also isn't a bad idea to change your password on the forum, and never to use the same password for access to an important website anyplace else.

Literally, The Contest of Contests
I was busy expunging the twisting sickness, so I hope I can be forgiven for posting an announcement for NiroZ's contest
after it is too late to enter it. However, it is
not too late to vote on the entries for the contest, which are themselves descriptions of contests. Now there is a very good reason to vote in this case. NiroZ, our official contest coordinator, is using this exercise as a means of harvesting ideas for future contests and gauging their popularity. If you would like to have, for real example, a DROD-themed cooking contest, then scoot on over to the poll and say so.

Curious, Shy Rabbit
It is time to pay attention to one user going by the name of "
CuriousShyRabbit"
. She spreads herself well, poking mostly into DROD-playing topics. This gal patiently answers newcomer's questions on Hints and Solutions, constructively critiques holds on Architecture, and generally, does something positive whenever she sits down to type a message. She's also spent a lot of time working quietly behind the scenes as a hold administrator. This job is what keeps the collection of holds on our board at such a high level of quality. We should all thank her for that.
For the Rabbit's well-spreadedness, pleasant nature, and that noble trait of not asking for things, I award her the "
Don't Ask"
award. The Don't Ask award is my attempt to alleviate one of the fundamental injustices of the world--that people who ask for things get more than people that don't. I feel like dumping a ton of mod points on CuriousShyRabbit, because she will know how to use them well. So I would like her to tell me how much one mod point weights, and then I'll make further calculations to bestow the correct amount.
