Sorry, I wasn't being clear earlier - what kind of DROD art are you volunteering to do - sprites? Avatars? Tiles?

I should probably mention that I have done a wide variety of other voices in several of the official holds (JtRH, TCB, Halph Stories, Master Locks). My most notable role is The Pit Thing. I was also The Runners, 1st Watcher, and The Infohut Coordinator. You know that guy you always hear in the official holds who's not Danforth Strout? That's me.

Have a good day everybody.

Mrimer has very kindly provided a soundpack of standard goblin sounds. e.g. "Yes", "No", etc. They are all in a wav file, and so you will need to edit and chop them out as required, using Audacity. I attach it here.

Hiya, is the hold complete? It's generally not a good idea to get the voice acting unless the hold is actually ready - all puzzles done.

If so, please let me know. Otherwise, please complete the hold first.

Are we allowed to use these freely or do we need to ask permission from mrimer first?

I believe (but check with mrimer himself first) that you may use them freely provided you give him credit in the hold for their usage. My own are released under the same principle - anyone may use them in their hold on the condition that I am credited with their creation somewhere in the hold.

I'd like to join as Voice Actor.
The first eight sounds in the attached examples are the ones I spent a bit of time to make them sounds as good as possible (So tried to make no Air Blowing into microphone). All sounds that there are are my and my only voice, using just a microphone and no filters (Excpeting increasing volume). So yes, I can meow like that in real life too without any problem :P.
I think I can do a whole variety of voices, and sounds also - Making explosions, wind, shoots, laser etc. with just help of my voice and filters isn't big problem. All my games use mainly sounds done entirely by me :).
I can speak a fluent English (No, it isn't as fluent as I'd like it to be, but oh well) or try to turn my Slavonic Accent on (Which sounds more like Arabic accent, in my personal opinion).
I think I'm writing too much, but well.

And yes, if you find the attached sounds and voices useful, then use them freely, But credit me, and if you can inform me where you used it so I might be able to feed my Ego a bit :P.

Have added you to the list. You need to keep something in front of your mouth or the mike to stop air blowing onto it - a piece of paper will do. But otherwise, your voice is fine. Not many people are asking for voice acting at the moment though.

That's too bad actually, because voices in hold make it a lot better, more alive, and all :).

In what sense do you mean? Are you looking for someone to make you custom player graphics for your hold? (if so, please ensure the hold is completed before you ask). Or, are you looking to make custom graphics of Beethro?

If the latter, just post them to the General thread for anyone to use :) If the former... as I said - make sure your hold is finished, and then ask one of the artists on the list.

This raises the question that I had, which is, can you alter the graphics in TCB to suit your needs? I would like to have a king but I only need to add a crown to one of the citizens to do it. Is that allowed?

Then can you direct me to where I can get the necessary instructions on how to these sounds and characters? I read the in game instructions but I am still a little confused. When you export the hold are they included?

Also, I am building a hold for the Feb 08 contest and would like some voices if that is possible. Would you need to see the hold or just the scripts? These are the parts:
King
Nanny
The Exterminator (like Beethro)
2 Goblins
Goblin King
Princess
1 Stalwart

I don't see how that would be considered as 'being blown up.'

Make sure you have recorded that sound in a .Wav or .Ogg file. (I think those are the two types of files.) Otherwise, you may not be able to get the sound from it.

To do this, I believe, you save the sound in a file. If you have a computer like I do, (Windows XP) when saving the file, there is an expanding bar just below the files you can save in. Press this expanding bar to open a list of several file types that you can save in. (I think .Wav is better, but I dunno.) Once you save it in .Wav or .Ogg, make sure you actually save it in a real file area that can be easily accessed by Drod Saved Files.
