×It's a clever basis for an implementation. There were certain aspects of the original that I felt it just didn't quite capture; the ghosts killing you, for one thing, but also the power pills that let you kill the ghosts, which are integral to the feel of the game, IMHO. (Also, the tunnels on the sides! DROD even has tunnels!) Just not quite "there", IMHO.

×This is a hard one to judge. It’s a terrific adaptation of the game; but did we need an adaptation of this game? I mean, seriously? Creativity, yes, but I'm not sure about "excellence, leisure and amusement". (Well, OK, I was amused. But.)

×Definitely a neat idea, and pleasantly not trivial to do. There were things I might have done differently--with scripting, you can make things fall immediately, rather than one turn at a time, for instance; and it might be interesting to make the gems optional, but score the player on how many they get... But this of course is quibbling, and I wouldn't mind seeing an entire hold around this concept.

×A little esoteric, and it just didn’t really play like a "game". (Also, if you change away from winter at the wrong time, the builders get stuck against each other.) I was hoping for more of a change in the seasons than a character appearing or disappearing; admittedly, this isn't RPG, where it's apparently no effort at all to rebuild an entire room, but even so.

×It's not that I don't get the reference (though it, too, is a little esoteric). But it's...well, there's nothing really there. There's some sense in which it's an implementation of Paranoia, in that you do something stupid and die quickly, but it doesn't really get at what's fun about the game. It might be interesting to build a hold around the idea of a game of Paranoia--make it clear up front that, yes, there will be scripting that will KILL YOU INSTANTLY if you do something wrong, and no, we won't tell you what counts as "wrong". This, alas, wasn't it.
