If you have an NPC with Required Target (i.e. you must slay in order to complete the room and drop the green door) and it or others are like are the only monster(s) in the room... the green door will drop the moment you step into the room - i.e. the room is considered completed.

This does not occur if there's another monster in the room, then the NPC behaves correctly, you need to kill it and all the other monsters. I'm assuming it's due to the "All monsters clear" routine occuring before the "Make the NPC required to complete the room" routine.

The hold attached is 3.1.54, but the bug is still there in 3.2

This is correct. And is therefore not a bug.

OK then. I'll consider it to be a quirk of scripting then :)

Tim, quit talking like you know things. Just being a result of the game logic doesn't mean it's no bug. /Everything/ is a result of the game logic.

This is a bug.

Having looked at it, I could not agree more.

This thread is pretty much just the same thing as a particularly recent one, and mrimer's end comment on that was: Not a bug, it's a feature.

In the future, we may get a way with dealing with it (possibly a drop-down list or additional checkboxes to set starting imperatives, rather than any change to actual scripting), but its future shares the same fate as a bunch of other imperatives that would like to be around on Room Entrance.

I apologise for not having read the other thread - I haven't been keeping up with current bug reports. I still think this is a bug though and guess fixing it now rather than later would be best, but I've obviously annoyed someone by thinking so and therefore deserve a -1.

Let's leave it in.

As TFMurphy already pointed out, we've already discussed imperatives before in the other thread. I was a bit surprised you didn't read that, but the conclusion was that it was a feature.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I never really understood what "Imperative" meant. I always thought it meant the same as "Turn into".

PS. Just in case, I didn't mod anyone down.

OK, fair enough. I ask because it's relating to an upcoming event.

I generally get round this by adding an inaccessible monster on a Hot Tile, which dies on Turn 1.
