Hiya,

Am stuck on JtRH and TCB, trying not to use hints if I can avoid it. Thus, am after a secondary hold to play... I know there's some really good ones in the list, but there's a lot of them. Thus, my requirements...

1) The hold should be of easy to medium difficulty.
2) The hold should be good
3) It should be straightforward.

I'm not looking for a massive challenge, I simply don't have the time for it, with my thesis writeup (ARGH ARGH ARGH RANT HELP ME HELP ME PANIC PANIC... ahem. Sorry), but what I do want is a distraction to play in idle moments rather than something that requires intense levels of thought.

So, recommendations to that respect?

Try Vere's Dungeon it's great! If you want something bigger, try Nightmare Dungeon. Simon's Dungeon is verry good, but it's pretty tough. :)

Edit: Odyssey is very good too, and I think it's easy enough. And Chaco's Hold, but it gets harder in the end.

Well, have you beat KDD? KDD is medium difficulty, and it's a really great hold (even though it's a bit long). As was said before, Pilchard's holds often have a nice level of difficulty... isn't too hard, that is.

If you're looking to stay away from really hard holds, I could just recommend staying away from some of LarryMurk's holds... From what I've heard, Perfection is incredibly hard and Lone Soldier and Magic Show are two of the most incredibly difficult feats anyone could EVER accomplish.

Makes me feel stupid just typing about them... :~(

I did indeed beat KDD, and I found it challenging in places near the end. Am looking for holds that are about the same difficulty as... levels 10-12 of it, roughly. Just as a distraction, not a challenge. I've nearly finished JtRH and am about 2/3 of the way through TCB.

...and as tempting as it is to start work designing another hold - no. It would take FAR too much time :)

Veere's Dungeon then, definatley. It's one of the best one level holds out there. And it's AE as well.

I liked Great Uncle Yurgess Hold personally. It was what I played when I got stuck on JtRH about a year ago.

OK, am chugging through Veere's Dungeon now. Seems one of those holds where you have to see a trick to solve the room, but once you've seen it - the room falls apart nicely.

Still, 2000 words of thesis done. Only a mere 58,000 more to go. Plus checking. Plus diagrams. Plus appendices. Plus references.

Help me.
