Granted, but next year, all the players demand raises that management isn't willing to pay, and so half the team is traded away to the Yankees. Next year, the Tigers suck again, but you are more disappointed than normal because you now know what they could have been.

Granted. Too bad you forget the actual question over it and simply don't have the resources to build a computer of the size that's needed to find out what "42" is the answer to... (and if you had them, the computer would have a faulty pentium with the FDIV bug in there somewhere, just because...)

Technically, the computer that found the ultimate question yada yada yada also had the faulty pentium chips (and of course, the non-faulty pentium chips)... that was all part of the program.
