I will admit that spiders can be irritating, but only slightly more than roaches are. IMHO the worst creatures are seeps, especially in conjunction with roach queens and brains
Spiders add an intresting element to the roach concept, and i get a kick out of suddenly noticing a spider next to me that i couldnt see before.
after thinking about it for a while, i realized that because of its ability to collapse trapdoors, allowing the brain to control the blade beast might be a bad idea, as what if its on a platform where the only access is a single trap door pathway? the brain would cause it to cross the gap, collapsing the door, negating your ability to get to that area. maybe a newer kind of movement when a brain's around, but not directly hunting for you no matter where your at.
oh, and sorry to confuse about the multi-color :p.
"
the jelly was a little confusing"
.
ok, lets try to clarify here to undo the confusion :p
they have the ability to go over water and pits exactly like wraithlings, but going over these areas leaves a purple trail that you can walk on. Movement pattern, unlike wraithlings, is snake-based. they're only one space long, but they cant turn around to attack. killing would be as simple as killing any other monster.
upon its death, or movement back onto land, the path dries, and behaves like trapdoors. diffrence being, you can leave trapdoors un-supported by land, these will fall if you seperate them from a land bridge.
does that make it easier to understand?
if not, i could make a mock-up room to show what heppens when it gets seperated?
