Another quick bit of logic. As before, in this world there are Angels and Demons - angels will always tell the truth and demons will lie. Again, not my puzzle

A stranger enters a cafe and he sees three men sat at a table, one blonde, one brown-haired and one bald.

He is of course curious as to what they are. He asks the blonde man

"How many angels are among you?"

The blonde man mumbles something inaudible. The stranger is unable to hear his answer and so he asks the brown-haired man

"What did he say?"

The brown haired man replies with "He said that there was one angel among us."

The bald man chips in with "Don't believe the brown-haired one - he's a demon."

What are the three?

No, because number 3 says that number 2 is a devil, and if number 3 is a devil, that means that number two is an angel.

So there are 2 possibilities. I think the first one was the one being sought, but the second is also valid, as it does not contradict any rules.

It is only possibly to deduce what two of the three are. Which two, and what are they?

It was my mistake, I missed out part of it. I should have rephrased the last line as "What can you deduce about the three?"

In recompense, here is a puzzle which is *definitely* solvable, and not requiring you to deduce things that you can't. Remember that angels always tell the truth, demons always lie and mortals can do either.

There was a case where a wallet filled with money was found upon the ground, and three people were found who resembled the picture on the ID card. It was also obvious from the holy contents of the wallet that the owner was an angel.

Of the three people who resembled the photo, only one was an angel.

In order, they each said:

1 "The wallet is not mine!"
2 "That's true"
3 "But consider that he (the second speaker) is not mortal"

Which one is the owner of the wallet?

May this puzzle hopefully soothe your (justified!) annoyance

So the second person is telling the truth. If the third person is lying, then the second person is mortal, in which case there are no angels. Hence, the third person is telling the truth, and the second person--who is telling the truth--is not mortal, and is therefore an angel. The wallet is his.
