One idea I had originally for the aumtlich was that if its gaze strikes a broken rock golem, it would get back up again. That would be a dangerous duo. In the end, I took it out because we thought this was a bit too arbitrary.

Well, if you would only have been willing to rename them 'archviles', then it wouldn't have been arbitrary anymore. And anyone who didn't see it coming would have deserved whatever they got.

Seriously though, that seems like a good power to fit somewhere in the game, but not on the aumtlich. I'm posting a related feature request here: Stonemasons

That said, it might be a good edition to TCB, because if mobbed by them, you would die, unless you had a speed potion, or they killed each other. But you could always maneuver around them, and run. There is some puzzle potential, but not a lot.
Edit: You could also use them to kill monsters you can't reach.

lets make a monster that is completely random and does random stuff all the time. It should look randomly and kill in random ways. Furthermore on random occasion if you kill it, it either doesnt die or doesnt die twice, each with 50% chance to happen. FInally if you come closer to it than 7 tyles it should duplicate into a random number of random monsters doing random stuff. Just they all should be pink then.

infernus was a duegon cleaner equal beetro but after muhc time of clean duegons and see all the duegon wolrd and duegon monster he want's to escape to outside and see the world he abandoned for duegons after much times the rooted empire or other side(depending of caravel games)says thath guy he can came out and for thath need to help him with his plansand.And Infernus acepts thath condition for escape from the duegons but after muchs levels he sees the rooted empire or other side is using it and theyr aren't goin to gave him outside and join beethro(¿that's his name not?)

habilities:
launch:launch 2 squares in is orientation the mosnter was near of him(he can lauch to non square square and kill him.)

trow pduge:trow a mortal pudge(works liek a snake but you can walk and don't die from his chain)follows you to kill the olny way to be him disapear is evading him 15 turns or be the puge hits the chain of pudge after 15 turns the pudgue retuns to infernus(don't be in the chain in tihs momet or you die)(infernus olny use the pudge with low normally)

two swords mode:expalantion
s=sword QQQ E=Energy block
Q=esquare QIS
I=infernus QQS
olny way to be that disapear: hit two times the same sowrd or change of room.(infernus don't use tihs much

infernal mod:be infernus can luch fireballs,magic fireballs and sumeon fire golems
fireball:a fireball of 2 turs 1 of cast and the 2 for lauch(after cast blast and fire 2 turs an straight-line when whas lauched)
magic fireball:follows you like a roach
to destroy him:be he crash in one wall
Fire golem:= by rock golem but afther him kill the 7 squares near of him be in fire 5 truns(just don't fire the place of beethro sword:smile) explanation:
F=fire golem EQE
Q=Sqare EFE
E=efect of fire EEE

and that's all you can't kill him beacuse him are goin to help you his ia is same careful that the Slayer.

monster:Radio organims:olny play the sounds you get intro in a carptet named raido for play other musics aren't for DROD you can kill him when you tires for hear the musics.

Two classic lines. First, I think if you launched something into a non-square square, it wouldn't just kill them, it would blue screen of death the universe.

Second, I'm especially amused by the idea of a monster thats just there to play annoying music and then be killed. I can think of any number of pop-stars that it should look and sound exactly like.

Here's some monsters:
Hoverguy
His behavior is like a roach's behavior, except it can only move on pits and water.
Scardy roach
Wraithwing behavior, but can only move on ground.

Delver
Moves like Beethro
Moves before guards
Attracts enemies
Can pathfind using platforms, arrow rotators, tarstuff switchers, etc.
Uses orbs
Drops trapdoors
If you bang on a door, he opens it (like Halph, but with any door)
Can be killed
Makes multiple paths to an object, takes the one that will get him there the fastest, and if the path gets blocked, he will do the process again.
Doesn't understand snake movement
Avoids getting eaten by adders
