Quick query... I'm making an additional challenge level for my hold. It'll be an extra, like the dreamplane in JtRH, and will only be accessible past the Master Wall, when you've completed all the normal and secret rooms.

Is there any way to have a blue door on this level? If I set any of the rooms to "required", then you'd have to complete them to get to the level in the first place - obviously impossible. Do I just have to have all the rooms set to "not required", so that it can be an entirely optional level? There's no way that this level can go in the main part of the hold as "required", because it's pure undiluted evil. So it's only ever going to be included as an extra optional challenge.

Even if any room is required, the master wall will still go down if you:
1. End the hold (not complete all required rooms)
2. Conquer all secrets.

So, just to clarify, I can have Levels 1-24 or something, with their required rooms and secrets. Level 24 has a stairway that ends the Hold.

If a player has conquered all rooms marked as Secret, and then goes down a stairway that ends the hold, then the Master Wall will drop regardless of whether there are any other "required" rooms on levels you've not visited (level 25, the secret level)...

...as long as there are no secret rooms on the unvisited levels.

Have I got that right?

That's right.

Your bonus level can have required rooms, but no secret rooms.

It can also have unrequired, non-secret rooms.

And you can have scrolls in the post-master-wall "Secret" rooms to tell the player that it is a secret room.

That would certainly work, but for simplicity (and since it's my first hold), I'm trying to keep the scripting low. The only scripting I'm using is for dialogue and NPCs striking orbs when certain things happen. I don't want too much going on behind the scenes :)
