Well, Tardustrial is on its way to the Holds board, so here is a new hold: Dark Sewers...

EDIT: Found a backtracking issue and fixed it.

EDIT2: the room behind blue door is required. >_>

EDIT3: Level 2 is nearly complete!

EDIT4: Level 3 and 4 are out! PLZ COMMENT! :(

EDIT5: Dang! level 1 exit ends hold! Also, the demo doesn't end at 3N2W, I just forgot to remove the scroll. XP

EDIT6: Six re-uploads already! >_> I sure don't test my holds well... X_X Back tracking issue found in level 2.

EDIT7: I looked after the bugs, and they're gone. Also, level 3 is unrequired. I haven't hunted bugs here though, so they may still be roaming there.

EDIT8: There are now 6 levels and one interlude. Have a nice game! :)

EDIT 9: Oh frack! I uploaded the wrong file!

End of level 1 still ends the hold.

Anyway, here's my comments:

The setting is nice, but at the same time annoying. The dark sewers are simply too dark. I can barely make out what's going on at the screen, which makes small mistakes really frustrating. Increasing the gamma is an option, but that makes other holds look bad.

The ideas for the room are good, albeit they could be a bit harder. I especially liked 3N2W. Keep up the good work!

That hold it's fantastic. Good job, Jeff!

I have play all of the hold, but i don't have complete for i don't have lot of time. I like all, but my fauvorite level is the Dark tunnels. I'm interesting on it, mud, briar, roach, roach queen! You have do a lot of things, and a good job!

I ve finished 2 levels. And it still needs some fixing here and there.

I might want to give more details later, but I really think you should do something about TDT:3S3W, by making the briars move one turn faster. And yes, this hold is really way too dark.

I really dont like testing scripted holds that are not anyone edit. Because I always think I am missing something. So I might not continue with testing.

Although I must say, this hold is better than I had expected.

Jeff, I see you use clone potions in the hold.
Clone potions are quite complex stuff, and you might not want to try them yet.

At the moment I think all your clone rooms are broken :(

I will make a bit more general remark sometime later in a general thread since this might affect other holds.

Well, the reason why I'm not letting the hold Anyone Edit is that I have a reward if you complete Roach Colony: 2N. But I don't want anyone to see before they find it.

Just noticed one thing:

The Sewers 2W: There's not much of a reason to drop the red door when you first enter the room. This will cause a lot of 1-move demos. You can change this by adding a monster on the other side of the red gate.

Also, it would be really nice if this were any-one edit. I don't really want to play through the hold again, just to see the new levels.

Here's an idea: Why don't you just tell people what room you don't want them to look at through the editor, and post the hold as anyone edit?

How exactly is the extra stuff in TDT 2S supposed to work? I think I see what you were going for, but mimics can't pick up potions. You might want to make both potions directly accessable by the player. I'm also going to assume without any real evidence that mimics can't use staircases, so you might want to make that exit directly accessable as well.

That's just to add depth to the thing. Almost as if to give the player the feel there's something under the floor. But no, there's no way to it.

In 2S, you need the mimic for the roach queens behind the door.

I'm going to say the same things as Tim.

Dark Tunnels 2S3W, you don't need to go down the staircases and revisit to get past the Briar. If the grew faster by one turn you wouldn't have a problem.

Don't use Clone potions. So far in some rooms I've play with them, you can get yourself stuck, go somewhere where you shouldn't be, basically breaking not just the room but how you progress through the level.

It's pretty nice, but the first level is too dark tho'.

I've found a repeatable way to cause DROD to crash on one of your rooms. In the interlude, if you are killed by a sword, undo the action, and keep rapidly killing yourself and undoing, the game will eventually crash. This doesn't seem to happen for hot tile deaths, just monster deaths.

While the death sounds and animation are playing, I also hear a whole bunch of beeping, the same sound that Windows uses as its normal beep. Is that sound intentional? In either case, you might be overloading something, though I don't know if that's DROD's fault or yours.

Can anyone else repeat this on their systems?

Edit: The adder doesn't trigger it either, it just seems to be the guard's sword.

When a player role roach dies, I think I hear beeps.

VIPCOOL: The roach does have a die sound, it uses the same sound it uses for the other things.
