I hid from this topic for many months because I had only about 5 goodies for a very long period. However, the bar has finally rewarded me with the last five goodies I needed, but I am now stuck with regards to the riddle.

I have read up to page 34 of this thread in one sitting, and am thoroughly frazzled by it, as well as clueless about what is interesting. I also am very bad at not pr0n - type logic (is this the correct definition?) puzzles, and so I'd appreciate a hint about what to look for (nothing cryptic, please; I hate cryptic crosswords).

Thanks to everyone who sent me a PM.

However, as a consideration to other people who have not (and don't know how to) solve the riddle of the bar, I will say that I personally couldn't have solved it without cheating. I'm bad at not pr0n type things, as I stated before, one reason being that I have trouble "seeing" the rearrangement of random lists to find a solution that means something (but rest assured, the solution exists and it does mean something).

I assume it's somehow related to why I'm awful at chess (what are those pesky lines of force that people keep mentioning?), and why I generally cannot program in any language (except the DROD scripting language, and perhaps a bit of Microsoft Excel).

Um, and one last thing that I'd like to say is that as a previous, veteran non-initiate into the bar's secrets, I do appreciate what it feels like to appear to be missing out on some big forum secret that so many others know about. So, I kind of feel a bit bad about the whole solving the bar riddle, especially knowing that I would not have solved it by myself, and because I may myself add to the said forum secret(s).

So, to anyone else out there who hasn't solved it yet, I guess the best advice is to be patient, click the bar often, and hopefully what is going on behind the goodie tags (I haven't actually looked yet) isn't actually that important (compared to, for example, a TCB Beta).

At this rate it'll be less than 52 more days, which puts it sometime before the 24th of December, by my calculations... just in time for Christmas, for us guys who realize it's not necessary to do Christmas shopping before the 23rd, at the very earliest...

Heh. I can confirm that the bar moving has no effect on when it gives out gifts.

If you take the popular song about the double-checked list as a reference, then they are not mutually exclusive. In fact, according to that song there is only one list, and it contains information on people who are both naughty and nice.
