It's the game itself, the other half of the tile doesn't show up because that's where the Wall image starts. There is nothing you can do about it, it's perfectly normal.

if you add the transparent tar/mud/gel
is it possible to click on it, to change it to the original?
Like you click on the clock and then it changes to the original?

No. However, one can alter drod.ini with some in-game command and refresh graphics with... F3, I think.
Why would you want opaque tarstuff, anyway?

Type ~help at the in-game command-line (aka the chat window) to get a list of options.

it's easy to see for my dad what's under it, but I prefer the normal tarstuff look

My only tips are to double-check if the Bitmaps folder contains the transparenttar.tim and transparenttar.png files. If you do have them and its still not working, I'm guessing you installed DRoD on Program Files. I would have it installed elsewhere like My Documents because I think it's a problem with Administrator privileges?

Thanks, that did it, I moved it from the windows folder to the main c: drive and it worked.

To Linux users:
Where is located the data/bitmaps folder?:?
Update: Ok, I found it, in personal folder.
