I wonder if it is possible to add some kind of editor while testing a room in the...editor. I think it might be a bit hard to do, but fixing an error *without* restarting the room all over again would be useful and relaxing.

This has the potential to introduce so many bugs. So many.

But what about the monsters in the room? Either you're editing the current state, with all monsters exactly where they are, or you're editing the initial state, which of course isn't shown - and putting a wall on top of where a roach is several turns in easily creates an impossible situation that you can't reach when replaying the room, thus making the whole "testing" aspect moot...

A better idea would be putting a 'play' button in the editor and an 'edit' button when playing holds you can edit so you can easily test the room.

Press F5 to test rooms in editor(it's even with unlimited undo!).

After reading this feature request I've created an handy tool that can record/play macros in DROD.

http://forum.caravelgames.com/viewtopic.php?TopicID=31913

I decided to make an handy little macro program that can record the moves you do while playing, then make Beethro do the same moves step by step.

This is particularly useful when you are testing a room in the editor, make one small change, and don't feel like playing through the whole room again. Just record your first playthrough, then verify step-by-step if the room still works.
