I think I understood most of what was said...
1. Allow orbs to toggle tokens. Not to allow orbs to activate tokens, mind you, but rather to turn them off. Beethro would be able to step on turned off tokens without triggering them. Presumably orbs would also be able to turn tokens back on.
2. Allow orbs to turn off tarstuff mothers. Mothers that were off would not contribute to tarstuff growth.
3. The same, but for Evil Eyes. Orbs would be able to switch evil eyes between asleep and awake. The orb would not necessarily point at a specific eye, it would point at any square and when bopped would toggle any eye that happened to be there.
I rather like the token and Evil Eye ideas. Token-toggling-orbs allow one to mess with tokens and doors at once, giving it a little value. The eye orbs have neat manipulation possibilities. I'm not sure about the tarstuff togglers.
