I've started working on a small project called Caravel City. Basically, there's no storyline yet, but it is a city for us forumers to make houses for and live in. If you would like to submit anything, send it to my e-mail account (pilchardviii@hotmail.co.uk) or post it here.

Please tell me what you think of this idea

Maybe it should be possible to play holds made by the person by visiting their house!

Technically not possible (yet). I doubt that this will ever be implented but it would be nice.

Well, perhaps it could be possible to implement a scroll in the house with a list of featured holds by that person, or links to them.

I like the Idea, I would participate on that.
About the holds, the idea with the scrolls is good, and maybe there could be like a warp to them if they are short(meaning with that of putting then IN the hold as a level, thats why id say maximum 1 level holds with this method). This system can be used for abandoned holds that you don't want then to stay there and die.
That were my 5 cents.

Okay. Now that I've got some positive feedback on this, I'd like to suggest how to submit a house or area.

First, you should build the area you want to submit. Then, you should ideally say where you want the area to go. If you don't, I can suggest places where it would look good. So far, there's Northern City, Southern City, Eastern City, Western City and Central City to choose from. Although, it is possible to add new areas, such as Mountain Range or Smiters Coast for example. Currently, I'm using the Aboveground style with grass and roads for Northern City, and the other areas haven't been decided on yet. Anyway, then I'll implement it into the hold file (You should also submit any custom images you use as well due to the 3.0.0 thing). Then I'll post the file here, and update it periodically.

There isn't really a limit on what can be submitted, because I can just expand the areas to add if need be.
You can submit one level holds if you want.

Before this sinks to the second page, I want to say; Can this be a 1-time only, online, real-time hold? That you must have a subscription to enter Caravel City?
The reason of the real-time is because, well, you wouldn't want to wait for everybody to choose where to move before you can move, now do you? The 1-time: To stop abusing.

Yeah, we could do that. But perhaps give people a set time to make an area, then implement it, then say a month later, give them another oppertunity. That way, it gives them time to work on it. Perhaps I'll set up a beta board for it later (Because I don't have the file with me), and then ask here for people to PM me if they want to join or if they have an entry.

EDIT: Making it real time would be very hard, so has anyone got away to make that work?

I like this idea, I just don't quite have the time for it yet. Definitely put me down, I'll do an area/house at one point.

Well, I may as well post what I have at the moment, and then abandon this project, seeing as only two of you have submitted anything (That's Geiler Hengst and Monkey by the way). I'll post it tomorrow.

Well anyway, here's what was left over from this project. It's only got two houses in it, but the houses that were submitted were done brilliantly. Thank you Monkey and Geiler.

some remarks:

.) you cant enter my house... there seems to be a problem with the areas were you actually leave it again.

.) where is your part

.) i guess more people might join if you still give them some time to submit sth. Why dont you publish it on the beta board so we can actually make sth out of it?

At geiler's house, the npc that sends you back to the main world has two problems:

1. It brings you to the wrong place.
2. You forgot the "Wait for Player" command, it activates every time you enter the house.
