You can't copy obstacles. Why can't you copy obstacles?

When you copy a scripted character, there's no way to say "and while you're at it, move the coordinates within the script the same way".

You can't change part of a coordinates-selecting command without reselecting the coordinate (if, e.g., you want to change "wait for NPC" to "wait while NPC at", or change "no turning" from off to on).

You can't turn a pit into a door in one step: you have to turn the pit into floor, and then the floor into a door. Similarly for everything else.

---

Er, wait, this is "feature requests", not "things that drive you nuts". OK, so, the feature request: I'd like to see all of those things changed. :-)

I would have to agree with you on the issues with pits and doors. However, the editor is set up this way to actually make some things faster . . . for instance, if you want a section of floor near pits to be door, you can just put the pits down and then drag the door over it. The door will only appear on the floor instead of the pits.

And you appear to be right about the obstacles. Why can't they be copied?
Now that needs to be fixed.

To the NPC auto-updating coords as you move them, that would definitely have to be an option instead of something that always happens when you move them. But it would be so helpful for script-dependent holds.

And to keeping coords when changing the properties of a move command, that's another good idea.

It seems TCB will have relative coordinates, so the copy-paste NPC thing will be automatically taken care of by that.

Not necessarily. If for instance instead of "go three steps north", I told the guard, "go to (18,12)", I might still want that coordinate copied relatively (just as it would change relatively if I reflected the room).

But why would you do that?

What if you wanted heaps of monsters to go to the same spot? I have seen it happen before.

Then there's no problem - you can just copy and paste the NPC with the current copy-and-paste functionality and that's what'll happen.

I know XD. I was just pointing out the usefulness of that, although I probably didn't make it as clear as I wanted.

I believe that absolute coordinates are staying as well, which takes care of that.

3.0 will support obstacle- and serpent-copying in the room editor.
