If you've created a fun level for SubTerra and wish to share it with others, post it here using a forum attachment.

This thread is only for complete levels! If you want to give feedback or ask hints on an existing level, or need help creating or testing your level, use another thread.

Oh and by the way - a 'complete level' means that it must be tested. Press the 'replay' or the 'verify' button from the editor and see if it works. Just as a matter of courtesy - it's easy to make an impossible level.

Heres mine SubTerra Hold. Its just a seven room Hold till now so its quite small but I will expand it soon.

Now the hold contains the 3 Singleplayer and 4 Multiplayer rooms. In one both players have the same playfield ; on the other two different. Note : Its not a bug that only one player in the room with two similar playfields have to press the conveyr button. The next update will contain more singeplayer levels !

[Edited by MeckMeck GRE at Local Time:05-17-2005 at 07:26 PM: Added 1 room.]

I am currently working on a 5-level beta test. I'm making my own levelset. But since I tend to miss some kinks, I'll release a ZIP file containing 5 levels, then 15, then 25, so on, so forth.

Almost done. Look for it soon.

I have a small-ish level from the beehive thingies. And Radiant, is it possible to make the Ornaments page more readily available, or do you think that people should find out how to get to it themselves?
This level is for the Level design contest, by the way.

I remember that in the last few level design contests Radiant didn't want the submitted puzzles being seen by random people until the contest was over. Is this still true?

Either way, here's my new level. If possible, I'd like to sumbit it to this year's contest. (If not, how do I submit levels?)

Stewboy -> Nah, let them figure it out.

Omega -> No, I have no problem with seeking help (or testers) for your levels.

For the record - I will automatically assume that any level submitted is (also) for the 2005 contest, UNLESS

1.the author specifically asks not to, OR

2.the level does not have a valid hard-mode demo (please doublecheck this yourself), OR

3.the level uses bug explots (which is very rare, but the reason is that a subsequent bugfix may render your level unsolvable; if in doubt, check the Master Object List for behavior patterns), OR

4.the level uses 'strange behavior' (which is also exceedlingly rare, and is defined as in the levels "laws of physics" and "don't try this at home"). The reason is that this is patently absurd and makes levels nearly unsolvable.

add them, but random does have no demo because there is no exact solution to it.

Why not? You can solve it, no? Then it will have a demo.

To clarify: an exact solution is not necessary, but if you cannot even provide an example solution showing at least one of the (presumably many) ways of doing it, why should we believe it's anything more than random stuff thrown on a board with hopes it has a solution?

Which might probably explain why Radiant's author solutions only play in easy mode...and why he's been fixing hard mode solutions.

I'm not sure if I understand you. Did you mean the cheat code that shows a solution? Because those should all be in hard mode, except for the tutorial ones (of which I have an alternate solution on my hard drive).

I haven't played your level yet, but wouldn't it be very hard to know where to go, when you don't know where to go, and when you can't even see the right path?

Edit: Another level. Nothing much to say.

Yours, probably. I found the idea very interesting (and the third room is very well done), but the fourth room is somewhat over the top... since the walls will mismatch as soon as you blow one up, it's nearly impossible to keep your two figures aligned.

Yeah, the 4th room is really hard. It's basically a memory puzzle and my memory isn't that great. I think there should be atleast one save point in there somewhere, but I don't know where a good place would be. Probably between rooms 3 and 4 though. (My other level also needs some saves just because of how long it is.)

Here's another level. 'Diamonds in the Rough'

I seem to remember having made a very similar level before, but I don't know if I ever submitted it.

Edit: I found it. It was called 'Rock Slide' in the 2002 contest.

Here's the first in a sequence of levels I haven't finished (just got done with this one), but it's perfectly fun on it's own. It wasn't a very difficult level for me, but then I designed it, so it may be more difficult than I think.

It even has a story line, although it doesn't develop much in this first level.

I've attached here and you can also get it from here.

Happy gnome-crunching!
~ Squeeky_Dragon

EDIT: I just noticed I didn't have a level replay or hard mode in my level. I've edited it and added the new attachment. (note that replay is rather chunky).

I bring a level! But it ain't made by me. ;)

Well, actually. One of my friends, named Arryn Villa, decided to make a level for Subterra....normally, it was not playable, but fun.

But thanks to me, this is now a rather interesting level...with a cliche name. XD

In short, Arryn designed the level, I improved it.

Enjoy.

EDIT:There was a room that was normally unaccesible, now fixed. And since Stew Boy asked so politely. I have recorded an easy solution. The hard solution...you're on your own. Quit bugging me. XD (Please PM me bug reports though.)

I'm releasing them as a 4 beta test for my level collection, coming soon. It's just that, trying to record a replay for Nice Vibe is taking a long time.

Yes, there is four levels ready to submit.

No, I have not made AT LEAST easy solutions.

Yes, the reason why I'm going to do this so that more experianced players can master the levels. Unlike me, which I haven't done yet...and probably won't be doing, for a long time.

(Emerald Sparkles Factory features a mega hard puzzle when on Hard Mode. Which would normally be a piece of cake.)

Anyway, another level, called 'Handle With Care'. I think the level name has been used somewhere else... oh well, who cares anyway?
Edit: Darkmatt, your maze level doesn't seem to have a working demo. The player kills himself on a seeker in the demo...

"To the best of my knowledge Arryn, this level is AT LEAST solvable."

Unquote:

Though you are correct, I do need to complete a working easy solution. It doesn't have one because

1. By the end of the day, I was finished modifying it, and had to get off the computer. (We done this at school! XD)

2. Arryn is no SubTerra player, just a designer.

EDIT:This is now fixed. Happy? XD

-----------

I CAN do them. But there's a difference between do them, and master them.

Solvable/done means I have a working demo that completes the level.

When I have a working demo that completes the level in HARD MODE, I call it mastered.

So most levels I created (CREATED, not modified) are solvable.

I wouldn't do this unless I was unable to work on it again! XD
