The attached demo illustrates three things:

×1.

×You can kill the roach without being mean (or even lead it across the trapdoor), but the green door won't open. (Is it defective or just considering the 'Neather a monster?)
2.

×If you close the door next to the roach's starting position after the roach gets out, the 'Neather will immediately reopen it (and laugh again).

×(The door is defective!) If you kill the roach and then the 'Neather, there won't be any monsters left in the room, but the green door still won't open (although it doesn't really matter, since you'll be trapped in the alcove anyway).
My last six steps are

×an attempt to show that the door isn't just delayed, like a blue door is, although the arrows prevent me from leaving the room. (The blue door only opens when Beethro moves from one room to another, which could be as soon as he's entered all the required rooms after causing the death of all the monsters in required rooms, but is definitely
not as soon as he's caused the death of the last monster in all the required rooms after entering all the required rooms.) The blue-door delay is important on the level where I first discovered it:

×TCB (demo): Deep Uncturage, where it prevents Beethro from killing two rock golems with his sword instead of leading them onto hot floors.
I say "
caused the death of"
rather than "
killed"
since Beethro doesn't have to kill the monsters himself -- he could, for example, open a door that lets a Stalwart at them, or trick a Slayer (or adder, for monsters other than the last) into killing them.
Just one more thing I'd like to know:

×How did Beethro get out of the dungeon? He indicated in the bonus level "The End" that he came back up the same stairs he went down, but we never see the bottoms of those stairs, and this room has only two exits -- the stairs, which Beethro said (in the same story) led only to a dead end, and the way he came in, which is blocked by arrows (as is the way he came into the room before it).
OK, two more things:

×Where is the pit of mothingness on level 13 (or has it been removed)? The only pit I can find is the one in 2N1E, which looks just like any other pit. And seems to be unreachable.
