Because it's late, and I can't find a word that fully describes what I mean.

Okay, on the maze level, and have killed the cockroach. I reckon I can get to the exit okay, but what I can't do is get to N2 W2 - this one:



I've been following the maps, and I reckon that either every path loops in on itself, or goes into a dead end (the most notable into that flaming pit of mothingness a few squares east.)

As I said, it's late, so can any one prove me wrong? Thank you.

Yes, 2N2W is impossible to reach in game. I don't know whether this was intentional when it was designed but you are right.

You're absolutely right. N2 W2 on level 13 is inaccessible. At least it was in Webfoot, and I doubt that this changed in Caravel. So basically, yep, you can't get there.

Alright, whoever the smartass who was criticising my spelling at 2 in the morning, thank you. The m and the n are like right next to each other.

Right, so I'll visit level 14 then. I've been enjoying these last few levels - creative, but not 'you die over and over again' kinda nasty like the ones on floor 8.

Oh wait, level 14's the goblin level. Damn.

I agree. No joking around. "Mothingness" has a really good sound to it. Like you won't ever be allowed to know what is in this pit until it's much too late. Hey Mattcrampy, would you mind if I reused your accidental word for something in DROD? Not sure what yet.

Oh - I mentally accompanied finding 'mothingness' with some sniggering behind your hand. If you like it, whee! New word!

In fact, that's probably how most new words start. Someone thinks they sound cool, and matches them to some concept.

Erik, feel free to use mothingness for something in DROD. It's not like I invented the word, I just missed the n.

And to think, if I had been coherant, what we would have missed... :D

Noah, 'mothingness' was purely accidental. If you feel like creating cool words, go ahead. Don't feel like you have to beat the raw power of 'mothingness', though.

I believe an error in the editor used to construct Webfoot DROD's rooms resulted in this room, Thrice North, being lost. The game had been released by this point, so Erik and Lucas let it go.

Incidently, can anyone tell me what points in Webfoot DROD made the game impossible to clear? I know there was an error on level 13 and level 16, but in what rooms?

Also, what was the change made on level 8 to stop one room being impossible to clear if you went too far from the entrance? I know it's something about a door.

Enquiring minds want to know.

A while ago I posted up a modified version of this room that had a green door at (1) and an orb at (2) that opened both yellow doors at the top right.

Edit: Whoa, I just realized how old this thread is. Now I know where that word came from, too. I'm going to use it in a story I'm writing, if you don't object.
