Sort of a general designing question/poll. How many rooms can you make at once before writer's block sets in? I've got three themed levels and each of them is *almost* complete, but not quite. They each need one, maybe two more rooms each but I am absolutely blocked on them. Cannot think of a decent idea that's different from the other rooms in the level.

When does this tend to happen to you? After a certain number of rooms? After working on similar rooms for a while?

At certain time, yes..

After you do a lot at once.

Or you trying to enforce a theme or you limit yourself you using only certain elements, which then at that point you are striving for originality and inspiration instead of letting it come naturally.

Or after you've eaten.

Problem with me I have to play everything 300 times over to make sure no one can break it because I end up doing rooms which freedom of solution, or insolvable. Usually the later.

Odd. I find the opposite - that a good meal really helps the creative process. e.g. tonight's beef and bamboo shoots in hoi sin and pasta (experimenting with new recipes... this one works OK, but is nothing special) lead to a fuse puzzle and a goblin/trapdoor room.

Argh, writers block has struck once more! I've only got two levels left to build in my hold (the grand finale - mixed with all different types, and one level in the middle of medium difficulty), and I cannot seem to get ideas for rooms! At least not ones that'll work.

*growl*

Worst time for it to hit, when you're so close to finishing! I've got nearly 170 rooms done, hoping to hit 200 by the time I finish - I'm trying to get my first hold to be as good and professional as possible, not just a one level "here's my first hold" one. Still, at least the recording of the script/sound is going well.

See it this way, I know of more people who takes even longer to make their first hold.

I'm currently have a block too, so don't expect anything from me soon. Fortunately I've already published my first hold

Mmmm. I'm probably being overly ambitious... but I've already done 160 rooms, so what's a few more? ;-) I have every intention of making this hold a diamond.

Or at least a cubic zirconia.
