I was at work today, and I got bored. So, I took the paperclips that we use, and made them into a little guy. Here he is:


The contest is this:
Make the best representation of anything DRODy. This could be a model of Beethro's head, a particular room you love, a huge roach, or even Erik's left eyeball. That last one would be a bit creepy though. Here's the catch, it has to be made entirely of paperclips. NO GLUE, no tape, no string, no sand, no nothing. Just paperclips.

You may use any tool you wish to modify the paperclips. So, if you want to take a blowtorch to it...be my guest. However, if it's not instantly recognizable as a paperclip, I expect you to explain why.

I will be the sole judge. here's a list of what I'm looking for:
DRODiness
Originality
Coolness

bonus points for:
making a HUGE figure.
making a tiny figure.
making accessories.
making me laugh.
using only one paperclip.
using more than 100 paperclips.
using colored paperclips in a fitting manner.
making something *very* intricate.
making it so that your creation can stand without any help.
making it 3D (hard to do with paperclips).

PRIZE:
every single rank point I can possibly give you. Currently I have 50ish mod points. By the time the contest is over I may have more.

If you need, you could also ask someone with a very large amount of mod points to give certain prizes. That way, you don't have to worry about losing your mod points.

Of course, I have no idea why I would suggest this.

you could be right. I didn't bother actually looking at a calendar. It still ends the 14th though.

Sorry for the belatedness of my response... *runs off to look at everything*

edit: again, *VERY* sorry for the lateness of my response. And Ezlo, good call... Sergenth wins! very nice paperclipping skills there! Now, I'm not sure how to do this, should I mod up the post with the pic in it? or should I find some post of his that is unmodded and just mod that one as much as I can?

also, thanks those who offered to give mod points for me, but I'd prefer to just use up my own points. I have no problems with that, as I'm sure I can earn some more at some point in the future.

vylycyn's sculpture wins more of the "challenges" laid out in the contest rules:

- using colored paperclips in a fitting manner.
- making it so that your creation can stand without any help.
- making it 3D (hard to do with paperclips).

I just had 1 colored paperclip (only did 2 of Beethro's 3 hairs) and it doesn't really satisfy any of the other categories. It's intricate, but it's only 2 hours worth of intricacy.

All vylycyn really needs is a spinning animated gif!

What could be more "DRODy" than beethro? Plus, very cool. vylycyn's is neato, but... I liked yours more. thus, you win! My question still stands though, how do I get my mod points to you? I could just mod up your first post, but that wouldn't get you as many rank points. I'm tempted to find some random post of yours that isn't really remembered, and mod it into oblivion. I'm not really sure though (as this is my first time doing this).
