Since i've added speech about sucky in tge twelfth level of the Beethro's roach, i've decided to add a suggestion. Since in my hold they say within year 2007, it should appear in the TCB.

So this is an green goo that is cuttable from inner edges. Like:
S=sucky
s=sucky inner edge.

SsS
SSS

An sucky mother has four squares: the two upper are eyes, and the two other is the mouth. If you're too close, say, two squares of the mouth, it sucks you. Bombs only can destroy the sucky mother, since it also effects any other sword&hook holding enemies and characters.

Hmm the fact that its only cutable at inner edges is interesting.
I suppose it will form sucker babies when reduced to 1 square wide formations. I think it would be quite tricky to remove but its quite funny how many squares of it can be reduced to babies with 1 slash... However it wont get along good with black doors.

The mouth is also a interesting idea, but I would find it better if the mouth is optional. This would keep it more flexible. Question : Will the mouth also suck unarmed monsters (e.g. wraithwings) ? Would it suck Halph ?

Sounds interesting, but how do you define inner edge ? How can DROD know that an edge is inner or not ? How can humans determine it ?

With all due respect, I believe Borsuk means how would you write a computer program that would distinguish the small s's from the large S's. It appears that there should be inner-edges on every square that is covered by Suck and surrounded orthogonally by other Suck.

And yeah, it would be impossible to clear suck completely unless it was positioned like so:

SsS   ==>  b b
SSS        bbb

Another definition, which should work better.
Outer square is a square which has at least 3 (connected; chain-like) non-sucky squares adjacent to it.
Keep in mind that "non-sucky square" includes walls.

Simply won't happen unless they change possible tar shapes. And they won't, because it would mean extra work without obvious improvement to gameplay. Neither tar nor mud can form such shape.

Uh... doesn't DROD already have something that distinguishes outer from inner? In tar & mud? It's already possible to tell what a 'side' is, for tar, and a 'corner', for mud... So using the original description of 'inner'... that would just be anything that you can't kill in mud or tar; anything that's not a side or a corner. (It also distinguishes it with the graphics, with the edges looking different!)

Added: And 'inner' would just be any square with all horizontal and vertical directions filled with the same of square, would it not?

Now so it stops the scripting things:

Droqen is right. It is something you can't cut in mud or tar.

let me give you an example:



1 is a inner edge and would have to be cut if it was sucky.
