When your score is way up to 10,000 or more like Doom's and Stefan's.

Check the High Scores page...those are undisputed smitemasters. :glasses

[Edited by MasterGiga at Local Time:04-21-2005 at 04:48 AM: Stefan has moved UP!]

When you lose all the data on your hard drive(like I did a few months ago) the thing you care most about is losing your DROD data.(I had dozens of completed holds, many of them long and difficult.)

Yes, I'm back...

-When you post into this thread way too much, like that guy, MasterGiga...

-When your doctor orders you to cut down on playing DROD. Only one hold per day. You must not play for more than an hour. You have to go by these restrictions until you stop having those nightmares about the 39th Slayer. :D

When, instead of listening to said doctor, you manage to get him addicted to DROD too.

When you become confused why the contestants on Fear Factor are scared of the roaches... I mean, come on... they are 100th the size of the roaches you are used to!

When you are playing JtRh Level 21, 1E, continuously for 3 hours - and still not managed to complete it - and then start reading. You read a word at the top of the page, then look for a corresponding word near the bottom of the page. I had to put the book down as I found it impossible to read for 30 minutes or so.

Also when you wake in the middle of the night and realise that your dream is based on DROD movements and puzzles. (This has happened to me ever since I first played Webfoot DROD. I often get up in the middle of the night to carry on playing.)

You leave some eggs in the kitchen to boil, knowing you're playing DROD at the time also...AND suddenly, one thing leads to another, you lose track of time, and the water evaporates...you know the rest. This really happened to me last week. That was not a pretty site...the eggs just blasted open from being heated.
:w00t

DON'T COOK ANYTHING (that you may think you will remember to check on)AND PLAY DROD AT THE SAME TIME! Play DROD first, then hours later cook if you're up to it. :D

I must admit, playing DROD was the means behind my sudden ability to burn soup. :)

just to make this NOT off topic:

you know you play to much if...you get ideas on things to do just from reading this thread

I was on a ship that got sunk in Puzzle Pirates and ended up with an injury (like 1 in 1000 chance, one of three possible injuries: eyepatch, peglag, or hook hand)... I got a hook and my thought was "cool, now I can be a slayer"

the wisp will find you, the hook will follow!

When you attempt to play another PC game and you immediately place your fingers over the number pad and the Q and W keys. I have done this, but only on one other game. (Except on DROD I use the arrows for up, down, left, and right)

This is actually a REAL case of playing too much DROD. I wonder if I should cut down on DROD...hmm, NOT! :D

I once did that and I was wondering why the game wasn't playing(half life)

You've seen those arrows on the road that tell you which way the traffic's supposed to go, right?

Have you ever tried driving through them the wrong way? That's where pile-ups come from.

So now you know where force arrows came from.

...incidentally, I don't play DROD too much. Nope.

...put down on a job application that one of your hobbies or interests is playing DROD.

...try to explain to the interviewer exactly what DROD is in the interview.

...also bring a laptop with you (containing DROD) to help you do so.

...become a little too enthusiastic about it, and also consider trying to convert your interviewer to playing DROD.

Use a pedometer to record the number of steps it takes to get to work, and keep trying alternative routes to see if you can get the number of steps down. The most efficient route seems to be to take a car instead...
