Hi all!

First of all, I apologise if this has been said before.

I think that having to put down a trapdoor or an arrow or something to make sure the player cannot put a double down on that particular space can be problematic as those elements can have other side effects.

As such, I feel that having a scripting command meaning that the player cannot place a double on the square selected would be useful. In order for the player to know that they cannot place a double in that particular space , any squares which cannot be placed on could be redded out when the player steps on the potion.

What do people think?

While I think your idea is good, inevitably it turns out to be hiding of information - the player won't know that a given tile is blocked until they step on a potion, and then there is no handy way to reference it whenever they wish to.

So maybe some kind of non-interfering element that can be placed in the stage?

Whatever layer you put that element in, it'd probably clash with something that someone would want to also have at that spot. I'd think the onus would be on the architect to call out barred locations with alternate floors or overhead images or similar.
