When is it time for a new level?

I vote to have one single, giant level where none of the rooms is locked out so you can tackle whichever one you wish to.

On that note whoever edits the hold next can feel free to remove the green door right at the bottom of 1S, being able to enter from 2S wouldn't cause any issues with my level so there's no explicit need to lock out access to the rooms below.

So the styles just got changed for a large group of the rooms. I guess some of the changes make sense, but the Entrance and 1S clash now because 1S assumes that the style in the Entrance is Foundation. I have to admit I'm not the biggest fan of having multiple styles on one level, since it causes a clashing, so I'd prefer an uniform style across the whole level. But a few of the rooms that do use different styles transition well enough (1S and 1S1E), or do so because of object visibility problems (1N1W), which I can accept.

As for the level question, the previous iteration ended a level when they got close to the 30 room mark. I guess we could do that as well. Having one big level could be problematic for backtracking from opposite ends of it.

Anyway... bomber50 would be up next! And spitemaster said he wanted to rejoin, so he shall!

Jeff -- speaking from some experience as I coordinated the "Nameless Fortress" collaborative project, and made a lot of mistakes -- I think you need to take a firmer lead in making it clear what is and isn't okay. If you want someone, or want to allow anyone, to make aesthetic changes to existing rooms such as switching them to different styles, then make sure we all know who is doing that and how much they're allowed to change; otherwise people are likely to get upset if their rooms end up changed beyond what they're comfortable with.

As for multiple levels, my suggestion is that it's clear already from the list that we will be getting enough rooms for (at least) one more level; so why not start Level 2 (maybe even 3) now and allow architects to add to either level as they choose?

Does anyone know why this happened? Was it an accidental press of the "apply to entire level" button in the weather menu or something? I'd like the entrance to be changed back to Foundation at least otherwise I might as well just remove the image wall in my room and save on hold space. I went to the effort of putting in a "seamless" transition and now that's ruined.

Also changes other people's rooms, even if its changing the graphical style, goes against the rules of this project:
Jeff_Ray... wrote: Rules:
-You can ONLY modify someone else's room to make a way to your room. DO NOT MODIFY UNDER ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES UNLESS YOU ASKED THE CREATOR! Also, don't break the room. That's not nice.

Personally I'm fine with multiple styles in one level because it's just a part of the project, right? People individually make rooms one at a time and string them together, and part of the challenge is making your room fit in with the others around it... or not, if that's what you want to do. It's cool to see when people build off of the nearby rooms to make them fit visually, and also when they don't. Also the level looks like it's going to be massive so changing up the graphical and music style doesn't hurt.

Kieran is right. The style change is indeed a violation of the rules. The style of the rooms that were changed should be returned to their original one, and if someone wishes for a change to be made, then make your case here so that we may discuss whether we apply it or not. Of course, it will be up to the architects of the rooms themselves to decide whether they wish to change.

The counter is now at 20 rooms, so we have a decently sized level now. As per Nuntar's suggestion, I'll create a new level once my turn comes up, and allow architects to build in the level of their choosing.

I was assured that this was fixed in the latest version. However, to play it without crashing you are not able to be pushed off the token before the end of the turn.

Jeff_Ray: What do you think about adding a staircase to level 2 on the level 1 entrance screen, with no blue door preventing access?

there are 2 problems with Ezlo's room. One is that I can't reach there. Also, killing the rock golem with the sword and then exiting somewhat trivializes the room.

Sorry, about that. I think that I was the one that changed the styles. I exported it, then thought better of it, and changed them all back. But I think I then uploaded the wrong file. It is now not my intent to change other people's rooms

It's alright. Once my turn comes up, I'll undo the style change for the rooms that got changed. Unless someone has any objections to that?

And yeah, Ezlo's new version seems to lack the green door in 2N. :P
