There is something wrong with the maps,

The Arrow up (to go the another map) says "63" from the "turning-lettertype"
the Arrow down is the Arrow up,

and all the pictures (like "easy way", or "forgotten shrine", ...)
are all misplaced.

Wow, second problem you've had. Something definitely weird is going on.

Okay, try this:
* If you haven't exported your player profile prior to upgrading to the full install of 5.0.1, reinstall the full install of 5.0.0 and export your player profile, then install 5.0.1.6060 again.
* Import your player profile in 5.0.1.6060.

All of the map images should be correct. Is this the case?

I'm having similar problems. I tried the fix above. This didn't work. The yellow circular thingies in the upper left show up as a big white 63 instead. Entering the map or switching map screens causes a beep.

A few of the pictures in the map also seem off.
(Minor Spoilers)


I get the beeps on any save that has visited the map before. If I use a save before I drop the blue door in OHV, no beeps occur.

Drod.err is giving me this error over and over again.

I think it's one of these for each beep.

I did what you asked, and it's still the same

my drod.err gives me this:

Assertion error in line 553 of .\DrodBitmapManager.cpp: "!"Unrecognized image format""

Oh...I'm hypothesizing your saved games are not being updated because player import doesn't overwrite pre-existing saves, only add new saves for any levels/rooms/checkpoints/etc that don't already have one.

May I ask you to try first deleting your player profile from in-game and importing it again fresh from disk? This should fix the image de-sync. (As usual, I'd recommend backing up your five .dat files before trying anything else, just in case.)

Phew!

Looks like we've made sufficient changes to the TSS hold that one can't simply install this version right on top of 5.0.0. Didn't realize this was the case, but in retrospect, we should have named the new version 5.1. Ah, well.

I'll make sure to explain these instructions clearly to everyone wanting to upgrade their hold to version 5.0.1. If you just want bug fixes and not hold fixes, in order to avoid this upgrade process, you can just use the patch. I'll provide an official code-fix-only Windows patch on the Downloads page.

It's actually fine by me, how it is now.
The problem is fixed.
Also, I have a very organized folder in my dropbox and on my memory stick,
should my computer crash, I can reinstall DROD in 10 minutes with all my holds, players, settings etc... up to date
Should this happen, and I need to do a reinstall from zero, then this problem normaly wouldn't occure. (I think)

I also have this problem now.

And I don't have the Older Holding Vats on the map anymore, which is weird as I just found a harder question to ask.

I deleted the player profile. Uninstalled, moved the ProgramData Drod folder, reinstalled. Tried a cloud sync which put me at, I don't know 1 hour into the game. Good thing I didn't rely on it. And I imported my old savegame which put me on square 1 again.

Now, the Older Holding Vats are accessible right? There's no point where I can't get in there from the world map, or is it?

edit: I also tried downgrading, exporting, deleting ProgramData and importing. I don't have a backup of the .dat files from 5.0.x
edit2: Cloud save is now up to date but map is still corrupted

Am I screwed?

Hi, where can I find TSS 5.0.0 for mac, it sounds like I need to reinstall it to be able to go back to levels which are now missing from the map, but I can only see 5.0.1 on the downloads page?

So sorry for the trouble. I've reenabled the Mac and Windows 5.0.0 versions on the Downloads page, in case anyone needs to grab them in order to back up to 5.0.0 and perform the 5.0.1 player data migration process.

Thanks, but 5.0.0 crashes on the opening screen for mac, i'm not computer savvy enough to find a solution so ill just start again fresh with 5.0.1.

If you have an expired CaravelNet membership, you need to disable "Connect to Internet" on the Player Settings screen in 5.0.1. Then you should be able to run 5.0.0 and export your player profile from there.

I had upgraded to 5.0.1 without doing the export/delete/import of my player. I tried to follow the steps to fix this, but something has gone wrong. I did the following:

* Exported player and saves from 5.0.1 and backed up the folder with the .dat files (just to be safe)
* Installed 5.0.0
* Exported both my player and my saves in 5.0.0
* Deleted my player
* Installed 5.0.1
* Imported

When I import my player or my saves, I am in An Old Tomb, 2S. I was at the point where I needed to , so this is an enormous step back. What should I do?

I managed to fix the map problems for another player... If anyone else has tried downgrading and is still having problems with the map, upload your save somewhere, PM me the link so I can download it, and I'll see what I can do.
That being said, bkujala's problem sounds different? When you import the save you are in a different place entirely than where you were when you exported? Or is it again just a problem with the map icons?

I didn't play after I restored and saw the state, so I can't be sure. It looks to me like I'm in an uncompleted state on the room. When I go to Restore, there are no other locations listed. I'll upload the saves and send you a link to see if you can do anything with it.

My offer from 4 or 5 posts up and about 2 years ago still stands. Anyone having problems with the map, upload your save to a file hoster (Dropbox, Google Drive, whatever), PM me the link, and I should be able to help.

FWIW downgrading isn't likely to help. I'm not sure it ever would have, but perhaps if someone had played on an old version, upgraded, immediately noticed the map problems and quit without playing further, doing the export and downgrade stuff may have cured it.
