Is it possible to ad something to the demo like:
go to move X

when I want to watch a part of my demo,
I always need to start from the beginning.
So if there is a "go to" button,
I can start watching it from move 200 for example.

I absolutely agree with this one. It is especially useful when you’re trying to follow a demo step-by-step: you watch a few steps, then repeat them, then watch the next few steps (which currently requires fast-forwarding through all the previous ones!), repeat those, and so on…

Up/down arrows change playback speed.
Left/right arrows step forwards and backward.

I guess that doesn't address either of your concerns though. Hrm.

Yeah, that’s what I meant by “fast-forwarding” a demo. For long demos, this may take quite a while.

I'd also love it if it weren't the case that pressing any other key (besides the arrows and whatnot) cancelled the demo-watching. "Print screen", for instance, would come in handy.

I really agree with this. There's some rooms where it's a pain to do. Where the room is just tedious to do, and I just plain give up on figuring it out myself. Where I've gotten the first part, but after that I'm essentially banging my head against the wall.

So I download a demo that's available. (which has me close DROD, to open the demo file via the file association. Which is faster than just using file import)
Then I play the demo, holding the right arrow key for 5 seconds. Then I follow the moves. Then I go into the demo again, hold the right arrow key for 5.1 seconds. Follow that. Play the demo again, but hold the right arrow key for 5.2 seconds. Follow those moves.

And then play the demo holding the right arrow key for 5.3 seconds, already wasted 15 seconds on stuff that I didn't want to see. 20, if you count the first time.

It's almost made me tempted to just record a video of the demo, and play it back.

As for ideas on how to solve it:
How using something similar to a progress bar on a video file? I'm not entirely sure how feasible that is. Run through the moves 'silently' until it goes through them all.

Or something like vcrs did; the longer you hold down fastforward/rewind, the faster it goes.

Another idea I have is a 'continue from where you left off' kind of thing. Similar as to how it works on holds in general. To prevent bloat, probably only save 'demo progress' for the last demo viewed.
