Hello Everyone,

As of today it has been two years since I joined the DROD forum. Two years ago I was in year five at school and found DROD JtRH on a PC PowerPlay. A few minutes later I searched DROD on the internet and found this forum.

In two years I have posted 944 posts (including this one) accumulated and sustained 52 rank points, earning me the rank of Delver and much more.

It has been an enjoyable two years and I hope that the next years will be even more enjoyable. Thank you Caravel for keeping me here.

No. You did not post 944 topics. You posted 947 posts. Most likely, you made somewhere around, say, 150 topics. This is a post. The first post in a topic is a topic starter. Note the difference.

As a side-note, two years in and I've made the long side of 15001600 posts. That's pretty insane.
Before you ask, I actually started posting a year after I got my registration. Just having two posts was a big deal to me then.

Just because I have an honest opinion doesn't mean I should express it. I mean, I might hate Uncle X so much that I am overjoyed to hear that he's dead. But I wouldn't go proclaiming how great it is he's dead at his funeral right?

tbqh I appreciate the sentiment behind this thread, but in principle this is a bad thread. Imagine if everyone did this.

I simply think that a topic like this, despite the fact that its only significance is personal, is nevertheless worthwhile, if only because the topic creator thought it was worth creating.

The thread starts really bland and shows no promise, but suddenly becomes a trainwreck at about the fourth post. Everyone are so shocked they start yelling at one another, then complaining about all the yelling, then philosophizing about complaining while the OP stands aside, alone and forgotten, gazing in horror at the avalanche his little pebble launched.

Then Banjooie arrives but cannot add anything because the thread is perfect.

...and that is how it all happened.
