Is there a variable I can change to increase how bright beethro's torch is, and the same with the right-click torch.
If not, please make it so!

yes plz

This should be added to DROD along with all those variables from RPG.

[stamps this with the Kwakstur stamp of approval, which looks like an emblem from Sonic Adventure, but with Ness' baseball cap drawn on in red Sharpie Marker. On the ribbon are the words "Great Idea! <3 <3". It's a work of art.]

Hmm, changing Beethro's light intensity? Would be cool!

Actually, I thought about simply turning it on and off. But this would be nice, too. :D

Definitely something we need for aesthetics purposes.... though I could also maybe come up with a puzzle or two.

Puzzles should not be based upon the light radius.

I play without alpha blending. I would not see the intended effects of such a puzzle. Also, you would be hiding information from the player, which is generally frowned upon.

Not puzzles of "oh, you can't see this, go pick up a better lantern", but more just another way to intuitively express a certain variable to the player in a thematically appropriate way.

As a player, I often find situations where I'd like to make Beethro's torch brighter. As many architects are now using lights of different colors to guide the player's eye around their puzzles, I'd rather not turn off alpha blending entirely. This would be a nice intermediate alternative.

I'd imagine adjusting Beethro's torch intensity in my Settings screen.

I approve. It can be used for dumb, but it can be used for aesthetic purposes, and I view that as a good thing.
