Yeah...

...and I'm still a bit behind on my prevision for year 11. :(
That's also the main reason why I haven't been able to make a level this month, as nearly al the time I spend on the computer is eaten by reading up on calculus. :?

How many levels did we get this month?
Not many, I think. :(

Okay folks, the 24-hour deadline should be starting just about now :)

I've got submissions from Danjen, Jeff and Mystic so far. Anyone else up for the last minute?

Wow, that deadline came up quickly! Hopefully my writers/designers block will lift today so I can get my work done. It's not exactly how would like to spend my birthday, but life rarely waits for anyone.

Ummm....I didn't post a submission. Wonkyth had some difficulties downloading the template, so I reposted it. My entry never made it past putting in a few wall segments. :frusty

There's always next month. Who knows? Maybe we'll get a dozen entries in September (not exactly realistic, of course, but still possible).

My computer has 32-bit vista, service pack 2; and I browse using either Firefox or IE, whichever is available. Everything I download has to go through Windows Defender, AVG Antivirus, and Norton 360. So far, I've never had problems downloading from this forum.

That said, I'm reposting the template here; this is NOT my entry for September--especially since I only downloaded it about ten minutes ago! I've made levels before in fifteen to twenty minutes, but it doesn't happen often.

Here's my entry for September: Replicators Gone Wild! I think my idea behind it might've worked better in ST2, though.

Is this the first level for September? Wow. I expected things to quiet down when school started up again, but I thought there'd be at least one or two other entries by now.

Well, my entry for September is coming along nicely. I have some more places to fill in and then I need to test and work out the kinks. I should be done within a week.

School does seem to have put a halt to the flow of Subterra design, even for me.

Radiant: Not to sound picky, but it's now a week into October, and there's no new template. If you don't have time, with your permission, I'll post a simple one to keep things going.

Okay, here goes. This is actually from my "idea graveyard," a folder containing a handful or two of levels I have an idea for, but can't seem to get around to making.

To start, here's a recap of the general rules:
Radiant wrote:
It works like this: you download the template level found here, and use that to make a level.

The rules are as follows:
(1) You can add whatever you like, but you can't move or delete the objects already placed in the template.
(2) The only exception to the above is that you may change a square wall into an exit.
(3) You can't put anything to the right or below the no-scrolling block.
(4) Levels must be completed in this month, and posted in this thread.
(5) One entry per person; quality trumps quantity.
(6) Majority vote on this forum decides the winner.
Special rule for this month:
(A) Mirror, Mirror. The left half of the level must be as close as possible to a mirror image of the right half, and vice versa; this includes players. The level's solution, however, does not have to be symmetrical.

Good luck!

Hopefully I'm not the only one who's noticed this but.... there haven't been any submissions this month. And there are two days remaining of it. I'm not complaining, I'm just wondering if everyone forgot :P . I'd submit a level, but my levels aren't ever really that good.

I can't help but notice, especially since I was the one who made the template & rules for this month. I think I made it a bit too broad.

I started a bit of something for a level, but couldn't finish yet again. I've been taking a bunch of classes (hopefully leading to a career change), and have also been in a level-making rut for almost a full year now, ever since I submitted a zip with about 50-60 of my levels (and only about half the ones I included were new at the time).

EDIT: I also noticed there was no poll for the September. Therefore, I tip my hat to Ben Earles, since his entry was better than mine by far.

I'd submit a level, but my levels aren't ever really that good.
Why should that stop you? You never know how good/bad/easy/hard/whatever your level is until you submit it, and other people play it. Input from other players can help a lot.

Had I not deleted them years ago, I'd post some of the disasters I created and called levels, just to show you what a bad level looks like. If I were a gambler, I'd bet a good chunk of money that your worst-ever levels would be better. Of my earliest levels, only 6 were any good, and are part of the 2006 level set.

Maybe we should make it the contest for november, and I'll put up an "official" announcement thread? Think that would help?

EDIT: I also noticed there was no poll for the September.
Oh sorry, I had overlooked that. I'll put it up this weekend.

Probably. Since everyone's schedules seemed to be too full for an October contest, let's just extend it through November; hopefully, things will be less hectic.
