I had a search and found Blondbeard's post but nothing other than that. I'm sure it's been discussed before though but can't remember/find the outcome.

It would be great to have clickable doors which highlight the attached orbs/plates. I struggle to remember the associations offhand with more than 3 orbs and often give up on such levels as I find it frustrating clicking each orb every few turns.

I once posted this request, and still support it. Have never understood why it's not implemented, since we already have it in the editor.
